Alexandre Rydin

Alexandre Rydin was born of Swedish heritage in Lisbon (Portugal) in 1939. Since 1949 he has been naturalized and resides in Switzerland, where he began composing at eleven years of age. The Alexandre Rydin Collection, created in 1999 in the Music Archives Department of the Library of the University of Lausanne, contains Rydin’s output, which includes works for piano, organ, violin, cello, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, percussion, songs, scores for orchestra, chamber music and choirs.

Rydin’s music is performed in Belgium, France, Spain, Egypt, Japan, Australia, United States and in Canada. The composer’s publishers include Billaudot, Combres, Leduc, Editions Bim, Lemoine and the Recital Publications in Huntsville (Texas).
