Eldad Tsabary (*1969)

Biography

Eldad Tsabary

A native of Israel, Montreal-based Eldad Tsabary (1969) composes chamber, orchestral, electro-acoustic, and experimental-ambient music. Recent performances include The Electric Rainbow Coalition Festival 2003 (Hanover, USA), Electrolune 2004 (Lunel, France), Most Significant Bytes 2004 (USA), Music Under Construction (New York City), «New Music Days» festival (Istanbul, Turkey), «Primavera en la Habana 2004» (Cuba), The Synthese 2003 festival (Bourges, France).

Eldad received his education at CUNY’s Graduate School and University Center doctoral program, the Mannes College of Music, Musitechnic (Montreal) and the Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music in Israel. He studied composition under David Loeb, David Del Tredici, David Olan, and Tim Brady and theory under Carl Schachter, Philip Rupprecht, and Philip Lambert.

As a flutist, Mr. Tsabary performed and recorded jazz, Brazilian, and folk music with musicians such as British composer Graham Collier, and composer guitarist Hagai Rehavia.
