Fabio Pacciani

Born in 1947 in Florence, Italy, Fabio Pacciani pursued his musical studies at the L. Cherubini Conservatory in the Tuscan capital, gaining diplomas in composition (Prof. Carlo Prosperi) and orchestration for wind band (Prof. Lorenzo Semeraro). He studied orchestral conducting with Piero Bellugi, Bruno Bartolozzi and Franco Ferrara. Since 1981 Fabio Pacciani has been choirmaster of the Cathedral in Fiesole, and in 1990 took up the post of artistic director of the Siena Chamber Orchestra with whom he has extended the repertoire to include music by contemporary composers. Fabio Pacciani is currently professor for Music Culture studies at the Istituto Musicale Pareggiato «R. Franci» in Siena
