François Thuillier

After various rewards at the french conservatories of Amiens, Lille and Roubaix, François Thuillier, born in 1967 in France, obtained three first prizes (saxhorn, tuba and chamber music) at the CNSM of Paris. additionally he studied with Philippe Legris and Marc Steckar and turned towards new horizons: jazz and improvised music.

Since 1988, he performs and records worldwide with musicians and ensembles like Serge Adam, Ray Anderson, Ars Nova, Claude Barthélemy, Pierre Boulez, Lester Bowie, Les Cuivres Français, Hexagone, Michel Legrand, Michel Portal, the Orchestre de Paris, the Opéra de Lyon, the Orchestre de Radio France and the Ensemble intercontemporain.

He currently plays with the Caratini Jazz Ensemble, the Andy Emler Méga Octet, Jean-Marie Machado, Pierre Guignon, the European Tv Brass Trio, Martial Solal, the Wonder Brass Factory , the European Tuba Trio, Evolutiv Brass, LPT 3, the Mayotte Trio and the Musique des Gardiens de la Paix of Paris.

François Thuillier teaches at the CNR of Amiens since 1995 and gives numerous master classes. His discography counts around 120 CDs, of which 15 under his name.
