Festive and brilliant tradition of the march genre
The March Vers Saint Pierre [toward St. Peter] reflects the festive and brilliant tradition of the march genre. The first part, in minor, offers an elegant and energetic theme, while the second part, in major, emphasizes the more traditionally festive nature of a march, in stark contrast to the first section. The following Trio is a hymn per the tradition of British marches.
