Alexandros Livitsanos
Sunbeam differs from the conventional idea of a trombone concerto. It is a work composed with measured steps, not haste—like walking across a landscape while the world rushes by.
Here, the trombone is not projected as a vehicle of power, but as a voice thinking out loud. Likewise, the orchestra does not oppose it; it engages in conversation.
Sunbeam turns its gaze to the edges of light: the first beam of morning—tentative, clear—and the last of dusk—warm, weary, almost memory.
