The Work
Written for 4 trumpets, the piece at times uses 2 groups of 2 trumpets antiphonally, while at other times combining all four trumpets. Of particular interest is the use of whisper mutes - practice mutes so soft they are normally used for late night practice sessions in hotel rooms.
