About L’air glisse...
In this short song, Caroline Charrière sets to music a poem by the Vaud poetess José-Flore Tappy. She dedicates it to the Fribourg politician Solange Berset, in gratitude for her commitment to the creation of her opera “Les trois soupirs” (libretto: Isabelle Daccord) at the Murten Classics festival in August 2015.
The atmosphere of this piece is infinitely peaceful. Everything is as it should be. The calm is so profound that it gives the feeling that the air is gliding over the necks of the birds. The music, entirely placed under the indication dolce, describes this state of awareness, reinforced by the lapping of the waves, which leads to a fusion between the human being and nature. The quasi-parallel melodic line at the beginning leads to the monodic statement “I close my eyes”, a tipping point towards a state of absolute trust represented by subtle and moving harmonic strata.
